Sebastian Fiedler

Sebastian Fiedler works as a researcher at the Centre for Social Innovation, a non-profit research institute in Vienna, Austria. His research and development work focuses on the conceptual and technological support of self-organisation and self-direction in formal and informal educational contexts. Since around 2000 Sebastian explores the potential of tools and practices that have emerged in the context of personal and collaborative Web-publishing (Weblogs, Wikis, Webfeeds, …) and Social Media. Sebastian has published and presented frequently at international conferences on related issues and topics. He is one of the founders of the BlogWalk Salon Series where academics, professionals, and developers meet to explore Social Media related topics. Sebastian is currently the pedagogical manager of iCamp, an EU funded research project that explores the potentials and limits of supporting competence advancement in respect to collaboration, self-direction and social-networking within landscapes of distributed tools and services in higher education.
